How to Apply: Options for a retail investor to subscribe for an IPO

Option 1. Via UPI based ASBA process using Demat Account

  1. Subscriber logs into the Demat broker portal/app
  2. Subscriber bids for the number of lots and select the share price within the offered price band
  3. Subscriber submits UPI ID and payment option (GPay, PhonePe, PayTM etc.)
  4. The subscriber receives a block mandate on the UPI app for the total amount at the highest price bid
  5. The subscriber enters the secret UPI pin to approve the transaction
  6. The amount is blocked by the subscriber’s bank
  7. Application money is debited only after the allotment of shares.
  8. Post allotment finalization, funds will be either fully or partially debited or completely refunded.
    • Full Allotment  – When all the lots applied are allocated to the subscriber, funds will be completely debited
    • Partial Allotment – When some shares are allocated to the subscriber, partial funds will be unblocked
    • No Allotment – When no shares are allocated to the vendor, complete funds will be unblocked

Option 2. Via the ASBA process through Bank Account

  1. Subscriber logs into the net-banking portal of your bank.
  2. The subscriber selects the “IPO Application” which redirects him/her to the IPO Online System.
  3. Subscriber inputs the required information in the form by selecting the number of lots and price
  4. A block mandate is  created in the account on the total amount at the highest price bid
  5. Application money will remain blocked up to the finalization of allotment.
  6. Application money is debited only after the allotment of shares.
  7. Post allotment finalization, funds will be either fully or partially debited or completely refunded.
    • Full Allotment  – When all the lots applied are allocated to the subscriber, funds will be completely debited
    • Partial Allotment – When some shares are allocated to the subscriber, partial funds will be unblocked
    • No Allotment – When no shares are allocated to the vendor, complete funds will be unblocked
